Blue Marsden
Blue Marsden
Blue Marsden is an International teacher of contemporary therapy and spirituality as well as a best selling Hay House author. He is founder of the long established Holistic Healing College (London/ Tokyo) which provides a unique Counselling Diploma incorporating life coaching and other modern therapy approaches into the training. Blue has more than twenty years experience of running, organising and teaching workshops, courses and retreats.

In his twenties Blue spent as much as two to three months of the year in Silent Retreat, or attending Meditation, Yoga or Chi Kung retreats (he has studied with Chinese Chi Kung Masters, Tibetan Llamas and South American and Asian Shaman). As a qualified psychotherapist and teacher this served as a training ground for his own later retreats, satsangs and the courses that emerged out of these. It also gave him the opportunity to observe the energy and psychology of fellow participants, their reactions, what worked well and what didn’t in a variety of settings from the more austere trainings to the relatively comfortable.

With a strong background and insight into non dual awareness Blue enjoys helping people expand in the human dimension whilst freeing their mind and finding peace in relation to the inner (or essential) dimension. He is known for his ability to transmit a quality of calm and stillness and has been recognised by some of his early teachers as holding healing ‘Llama energy.’

Liane Ferreira
First introduced to yoga at the age of eight by her Grandmother, her reintroduction took place during a visit to India. Many visits later Liane spent time in an ashram in the Himalayas where she trained to teach.

Liane teaches many styles and specialises in a form of Hatha that uses breath as an anchor for the mind and has the effect of steadying the yoga postures and freeing the practitioner from overthinking and anxiety. The breath leads the movement, bringing a sense of grace to the practice.

The Buddhists say the breath is the anchor of the mind. The Sufis say the breath is the rope that holds us to God. Connecting to the breath stills and quietens the mind — making space between thoughts… space to let go of our story lines for a moment as we rest in the present… space to let go of ideas about ourselves that don’t serve us, making way for new more positive self-honouring ideas. We are not making peace and calm — we are accessing the peace that is already inside us — peace just clouded by busy minds and anxious hearts.

During the retreat Liane will ease us into the day with a restorative morning class which will aim to gently free the body and ‘un – clutter’ the mind, so we can melt into the living silence and all the profound and insightful moments the program aims to reconnect us too. David Rees
David Rees
David is a gifted mindfulness and meditation teacher versed in various contemplative practises and techniques mainly learnt in the Himalayas and Nepal where he resides part of each year. He has also explored the Buddhist tradition in depth through intensive retreats in Buddhist monasteries.

In an earlier incarnation he was a DJ and music producer but a spiritual journey starting twenty years ago coupled with an intense desire to understand human behaviour and be of service motivated him to train extensively in the therapeutic world. This later led to him founding the ‘Here To Live Life’ therapy company. Currently, he is also a Soul Plan Teacher and holds qualifications in Hypnotherapy and Life Coaching.

When in the U.K. he has run a regular program of open therapy days introducing the public to useful self help techniques as well as hosting Mindful living groups and one day Silent Retreats in Worthing UK which provide a short introduction into the benefits of switching off and experiencing calm underneath the surface of busy and hectic lives.

As his work has expanded over 27,000 people have listened to David’s Vipassana meditation on ‘Insight Timer’ and he has been invited to guide meditations as guest teacher at centres/ashrams in Rishikesh, India, Thailand and now of course Surrey! as he joins us to share his gifts at our Silent Retreats here in the U.K.
